DJIM Trader Alerts to 2011

Up to the minute alerts of the stocks DJIM traders are closely watching for a trade, a heads up of sorts. This section is mostly for the trader during market hours and those who are familiar with the DJIM trading methodology.  In an effort to get information to you quickly, these alerts may only contain a few words, maybe only a symbol of the stock. It is best you keep up to date on the activities in Trader Journal as most plays originate from that page.  Please remember Alerts are not a license to buy, watch for volume, market conditions and other indicators

A tier 1 spin on the lousy home sales this am,

May new home sales fell 33% sequentially to a record low of 300K, below its previous
low of 339K in Jan. 2009, from a downwardly revised April number of 446K
(originally 504K), well below the Street's 410K consensus, or an 18.7% fall from the
original April number. While the magnitude of this drop is significant, we view this
number as only modestly disappointing, as we note it is roughly consistent with our
earlier channel check that builders’ orders fell 25-30% sequentially in May, as well as
the MBA purchase applications data over the last seven weeks. Moreover, we believe
the more appropriate way to view this data series is through moving averages to
reduce monthly volatility, and hence, we note that new home sales’ 3, 6, and 12-month
moving averages are fairly consistent at 378K, 365K, and 379K, respectively.
Importantly, also, we note that these moving averages are 1-5% above 1H09's 361K
average and only 2-6% below 2H09's 387K average. Hence, we continue to believe
the housing market remains in a period of stabilization to modest improvement over
the next 12-18 months, concurrent with a modest economic recovery. Lastly, we
continue to view supply as manageable, as we note that existing homes for sale in May
fell 3.4%, while our Bi-Weekly Inventory Watch continues to demonstrate inventory
trends in-line with seasonal patterns. As a result, we reiterate our positive sector
stance, based on our outlook for the builders to demonstrate improving order growth in
2H10, expanding margins and fewer charges, which we believe should serve as
positive catalysts for the group.
